I have been a professional woodworker, furniture builder, carpenter and cabinet maker for over 30 years. I started turning wood in 2006 and it has become an all consuming passion. I only use wood that has been found, salvaged or from trees downed by natural causes or sourced word of mouth from a wide network of friends and acquaintances. My process is I start with an idea of what I would like to accomplish, but most often a completely different form emerges organically due to the nature of the wood itself. I try to bring out the best of the color, grain and figure and try to incorporate knots, bark inclusions and insect damage as part of the natural beauty of the finished piece.
